WHAT WE DO

Photography trips for curious people.

We take small groups to places that are visually rich and culturally real — tribal villages, festival grounds, backwater houseboats, high-altitude monasteries — and put them in front of the right subject in the right light.

Most of our guests travel solo and most are photographers, from phone to full-frame. Some come for the pictures; some come for the people and leave with pictures anyway. Either is fine with us.

We handle the lodging, the transport, the meals, the permissions and the local experts, so the only thing you carry is your camera.

One

We scout before we sell

No trip goes on the calendar until someone from the team has walked it — checked the camp, met the fixer, timed the light.

Two

We ask first

Portraits are made with people, not of them. We work with local guides who know the families, the festivals and the etiquette, and we pay fairly for access.

Three

We travel like guests

Eight to ten of us, one vehicle, no flags. Small enough to be invited in for chai, which is where the best pictures usually happen.

FOUNDER

Abhi has photographed India and the world for twenty years. His work has run on the cover of National Geographic Traveller and in Lonely Planet, Nikon and Outdoor Photography; his writing in The Hindu, Hindustan Times, Mail Today and Mint Lounge. In 2013 he received the International Nikon Award.

He was mentored by John Isaac, former head of the UN Photo Department — a grounding in the discipline of getting the picture and treating the people in it well. It still shapes how these trips run.

Today he leads photography and bespoke journeys across India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Japan and the Himalaya, both under his own name and for respected tour companies worldwide. On every trip he shoots alongside the group, reviews frames in the evening, and is happy to talk composition for as long as you like.
